I was talking to my good friend the VW Mechanic friend of mine and he told me the these new Disc brake conversion kits the ones with the small pads are a waste of money....He mentioned that at higher speeds these suckers will over heat do to there size so my question is do they make a kit that is crossed drilled and has descent sized brake pads,,,If not is there a high performance braking system for the stock set up. Those small pads are stock pads from Ghias and Bugs with disc brakes. The Type III, a heavier car, had a bigger pad. The rotor dissipates the heat

Replace front calipers with Talbot Horizon (Dodge Omni) Ate units. A bit larger pads, and more power. The rear could use some more too after that but it's still pretty good as long as you keep the rear shoes adjusted close to the drum. Jan
