You may have heard of the new diet regimen which is gaining popularity known as calorie shifting. What is unique about this diet plan is that you can experience rapid weight loss results without depriving yourself of any foods. You can eat as much as you want from every food group. The most important part of calorie shifting is that you have to eat meals up to 4 or more times a day. No snacks or tiny meals are allowed in between. Every meal should again have different calorie values, but must be a full meal. It is also very much recommended that you drink up to 10 glasses of water a day.

Low-fat, low-carbohydrate, and low-calorie diets each have pinpointed one specific dietary element as the culprit that causes weight gain, which if you reduce from your diet, while result in weight loss. On the other hand, shifting calories involves simply "shifting" the type of calories that you eat daily to different times of day. You are not eating less food and you are not sacrificing carbohydrates, calories, or even fats. In fact, you will be eating four meals a day with no quantity restriction on the quantity of the food that you eat and during any given meal over the course of a week, you will be eating from every food group. Drinking lots of water during calorie shifting helps speed up the process and increase the weight loss effect because the water will flush out the food and help keep metabolism high. Now most people make the common mistake of disregarding the calorie shifting diet altogether and just drinking water. This will help you lose weight but not as quickly. Because you are eating meals in different calorie values, you will cause a unique reflex in your body which will raise metabolism and fat burning and keep it high for as long as you keep doing calorie shifting so you can lose weight while you sleep! The combination of eating 4 or more meals a day with different calorie values in each meal, combined with drinking plenty of water is the main idea behind how to calorie shift.

There are only a few basic rules to this diet:

  1. You must eat 4 meals a day.
  2. You must take a break every 12th through 14th days on the diet, to give your body a chance to rest from the rapid weight loss.
  3. Dot not eat each meal until you are too full, but only until you are satisfied.
  4. Each meal must be separated by at least 2.5 to 3 hours daily.
