muscle building exercise Exercise question  
Hi! Should I be focusing more on the cardio aspect because it is referred to as the weight loss activity and/or should i be waiting to lose the weight before i start working on lifting weights?I have been doing both but if I spent just my time on the cardio part shouldn't i be losing more wieght? Does this make sense?? Sally

Ideally you should be doing both.  You need to be doing both, not for the effects they will have on your appearance but for your total health.   That said, I would suggest that you take a long range view. Don't think about losing weight but losing body fat.  The benefit of WT is that you'll be keeping or increasing your lean body mass (LBM) which will effect your 24/7 _meta_bolism.  The gain or loss of a couple of pounds of LBM has a large impact on losing BF and keeping it off.  Where as, if you do only cardio (and especially if you do too much cardio) you're likely to lose LBM along with BF.  Just cardio will cause you to lose weight but that loss of LBM will cause you to have a low LBM at the end, hence a slower _meta_bolism, which in turn forces you to have a lower daily calorie intake.... and that's the reason most people end up gaining BF back.  Often the cycle will repeat
