Exactly what is a weave ? And how are they put in? Not stupid! People use this term loosely, and it CAN be confusing. A weave is this: A cornrow, meaning a braid woven tightly to your scalp, is put in, then a weft [1] is sewn onto that hair. It makes a sort of curtain of hair. The advantages of weaves are valuable for people whos hair is very curly and want straight extensions, or a more silky texture curl. The extensions I do, has your own hair intermixed with the added hair. I don't have a problem with it because I match the texture to the clients existing texture (human hair extensions) I've seen white girls with fine fine hair get these done, and it usually causes more harm than good. I recommend whoever gets a weave, have strong hair to begin with. It isn't easy to dry the _base_ cornrow after washing, and this sometimes emits an *odor*. Dead skin builds up under this braid also. Sometimes it isn't very pretty. This method of extensions is the only way *some* people can have long hair. Hope that helped! [1] hair sewn together at the very top so it is connected , not loose.
